A new Umno?

To displace Umno, one must never backtrack the old way Umno has trodden for seven decades. Moreover, does this new, junior Umno ever have what it takes to bring down the Big One?

Mahathir and his racist party

Mahathir is never an idealist but very much a pragmatist himself, a label which under certain context, I would say, is more derogatory than complimentary.

New party to be registered soon: Muhyiddin

Muhyiddin says in a Facebook post that he will soon apply to the Registry of Societies for the establishment of a new political party.

Nov 7 hearing of Najib's application to strike out Mahathir's suit

The High Court here today set Nov 7 to hear Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's application to strike out the 'misconduct' lawsuit against him by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and two others in regard to 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB)'s strategic development fund.

Expediency

Such expedient collaboration or alliance is not unknown, but for an opposition camp that upholds lofty aspirations and cherishes the ideals of democracy, teaming up with the wrong partner would only erode its political morality further.

The political future of the Malays

The by-elections in Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Besar are decisive battlegrounds for various Malay political forces: Umno, PAS, PKR to the more recent Amanah and Mahathir's movement. The more divisive the Malay society, the more people will look to Umno for guidance.

Proton and patriotism

Patriotism is something absolutely abstract that could never be translated into some realistic gains. It is totally impractical to tie the sale of Proton to patriotism alone.
