Shukri is new MACC chief

KUALA LUMPUR, May 17 (MySinchew) -- Former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) deputy chief commissioner (operations) Datuk Seri Mohd Shukri Abdull will be the new chief commissioner.

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said Shukri was appointed because of his previous rich experience at MACC

Shukri will assume his new post upon consent from His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Former MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed, who met Tun Mahathir at his Perdana Leadership Foundation office in Putrajaya this morning, has declined the offer to helm MACC.
