KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 (Sin Chew Daily) -- Malaysians lost RM2.14 billion to scammers over the last two years, but the police believe the actual figure could be ten times higher!

Bukit Aman commercial crime investigation department director Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said yesterday the police received a total of 20,600 complaints against scammers last year, a 46% increase over the 14,000 cases reported a year earlier.

However, the amount involved last year was RM1.06 billion, marginally lower than RM1.08 billion for 2015.

Acryl Sani also said although there were fewer than ten complaints against JJPTR, the police believed the company had almost 400,000 investors here and abroad,

He urged the investors to stand up and report so that the police could investigate.
